Talend Integration Platform Upgraded

Talend v5.2 offers support for NoSQL databases, and big data profiling for Hadoop.

Talend has released version 5.2 of its enterprise open source integration platform, which, according to the company, “provides a unified environment for managing the entire lifecycle across data, application, and process integration requirements.”

In version 5.2, Talend provides big data profiling for Hadoop, support for NoSQL databases, and increased usability and performance. The addition of big data profiling for Hadoop allows Talend 5.2 users to discover and understand data in Hadoop clusters. According to the company, problems such as data duplication, incompleteness, and inconsistency can cause inefficiencies in data processing, but the Talend Platform for Big Data helps address this by providing better visibility into big data in all its forms and locations.

Talend 5.2 adds support for NoSQL databases through its integration solutions – Talend Platform for Big Data and Talend Open Studio for Big Data – with an initial set of connectors for Cassandra, HBase, and MongoDB. The announcement describes Talend Open Studio for Big Data as a “powerful and versatile open source solution for big data integration that natively supports Apache Hadoop, including connectors for Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), HCatalog, Hive, Oozie, Pig and Sqoop.”
