Scala Programming Language Ported to .Net

By

A new port brings the Scala programming language to the .Net platform.

Miguel Garcia, part of the Scala group at the École Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne / Swiss (EPFL), has reached a milestone in making the Scala programming language available on the .Net platform. The project funded by Microsoft is now shipping a working compiler. Garcia made use of the IKVM infrastructure that has brought the Java Platform to .Net. In an interview on the Scala web site Garcia talks about the background of his port and how he has integrated the Scala library ecosystem into .Net. A Howto-Guide helps people interested in trying the code that is available from http://lampsvn.epfl.ch/svn-repos/scala/scala-experimental/trunk/bootstrap
