ROSA Enterprise Linux Server Released

The ROSA team has announced the ROSA Enterprise Linux Server (RELS) 2012 server operating system, which is based on a combination of Red Hat, various open source technologies, and ROSA's own tools and applications.

The company also states that RELS 2012 provides a first step toward building a ROSA Cloud Platform – an integrated software stack being developed by ROSA that will include IaaS and PaaS tools, along with tools to set up, monitor, and maintain a cloud infrastructure. RELS 2012 currently includes tools aimed at simplifying deployment and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure, specifically:

  • ROSA Server Setup for installing and configuring server components using a web interface.
  • ROSA Management Server for managing configuration of installed server applications.
  • ROSA Directory Server for administration of user accounts and access control.
