Backup and restore disks

Block by Block

Conclusions and Outlook

Rescuezilla is a quick and reliable option for backing up entire data media. The software does not touch the system because it boots as a Live system from a removable disk. Because it copies blocks rather than files, Rescuezilla also works independently of the operating system or filesystem, making it suitable for any type of medium.

Useful add-on programs for managing mass storage devices and for restoring data extend the tool's field of application to the reconstruction of deleted or destroyed datasets. In the upcoming major release 1.0.7, the developer is also looking to integrate a reliable option for backing up and restoring individual partitions. Even now, though, Rescuezilla is a great help in backing up and restoring data – both for professional administrators and power users.
