Systemd has become the default init system for many Linux distributions, including Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, openSUSE, and Arch Linux, says Dan Nanni. As such, systemd provides features to start daemons, keep track of processes, and manage resources.

In this tutorial, Nanni describes 24 useful systemd commands and how to use them, including systemctl, a command-line tool that “provides a wide range of functionalities to control and manage services, units, and system states.”
