Figure 3: The performance of RAID 5 and RAID 10 is strongly dependent on the intended use. The IOPS figures for random read are significantly higher in RAID 5. The more random writes, the better RAID 10 fares. But latencies on a par with SSD are only achieved by RAID 10.
