AMD Announces New Opteron 6300 Processors

New 12- and 16-core models are optimized for data analysis.

AMD has announced the latest round of Opteron 6300 series "Warsaw" processors. The 12-core Opteron 6338P and 16-core 6370P are optimized for heavy use scenarios, including data analysis, xSQL, and traditional database services, with the emphasis on maximizing per-watt and per-dollar performance. The new models are fully "socket and software compatible" with existing Opteron 6300 models.
