HP and NVidia Announce GPU Technical Center

New center will let users test GPU configurations for HP high-performance systems.

HP and NVidia have announced the opening of the EMEA HP NVidia GPU Technical Center of Excellence in Grenoble, France. The new technical center is design to allow simulations, testing, and benchmarking for HP systems that use the NVidia Tesla GPU. HP hopes the new center will "enable scientists and researchers around the world to tackle complex challenges from quantum mechanics to finding a cure for cancer."

In addition to on-site services, the center will support remote access through the Internet through the HPC network. A sophisticated virtualization architecture will allow users to experiment with sharing GPUs across multiple virtual machines to find the optimum system configurations. Experts from HP and NVidia will provide "advice and consultation on development and tuning of applications using GPU acceleration."
