StarlingX 11 Released
Version 11 of the open source StarlingX project is now available. This latest release of the distributed cloud platform for edge environments “builds on the project’s foundation of high availability and robust lifecycle management” with many new features and improvements.
StarlingX 11 features include:
- Improved upgrade rollbacks
- Streamlined networking with the new Platform Network Address Reduction for AIO-SX
- Encrypted pod-to-pod traffic via IPsec
- Expanded OpenStack integration with improved storage, networking, and compute performance.
This release of StarlingX also offers enhanced access control with new preconfigured keystone roles. According to the announcement, the two new roles – Configurator and Operator – provide greater access control flexibility. “The Configurator role mirrors admin privileges except sensitive certificate operations, while the Operator role bridges the gap between reader and admin, allowing essential host operations without full administrative access.”
