ISC Moving to Leipzig

The International Supercomputing Conference (ISC) will convene in the city of Leipzig, Germany, next year for its 28th HPC forum.

According to the announcement, ISC began as a small conference in Mannheim, Germany, in 1986 but soon had to move from the university campus to a local conference center. As the conference program and exhibition grew, ISC later moved to Heidelberg, for several years and then in 2006 moved to Dresden. After three years of continued growth, the conference moved to Hamburg, where attendance has grown about 20 percent each year.

The 2012 International Supercomputing Conference (ISC’12), which concluded its 27th meeting last month, drew a record 2,403 attendees and 175 of the leading high performance computing vendors and research organizations from around the world. The conference typically offers a five-day technical program with a wide range of expert speakers and exhibits from leading research centers and vendors.

According to the announcement, the Congress Center Leipzig, which is located within the Leipzig Trade Fair Grounds, features distinctive architecture and state-of-the-art facilities. The city has a long history of hosting trade fairs for centuries, with the oldest record dating to 1165.

ISC’13 will be held in Leipzig, Germany, June 16-20, 2013. For more information, please visit: http://www.isc-events.com/isc13/.
