Canonical Launches New Certification Platform

By

Exams for the SysAdmin track are now available in public and beta form.

Canonical has launched Canonical Academy as a platform to help users validate their open source skills.

The certification platform’s first supported learning track is the SysAdmin track, which features exams that test practical expertise with Linux and Ubuntu.” According to the company, the modular, self-paced assessments are designed to prepare learners for real-world scenarios and fit into busy schedules.

The SysAdmin track currently includes the following three exams, with a fourth exam in development:

  • Using Linux Terminal (available to the public) – Covers basic operational knowledge of Linux on security, operations, and maintenance of basic system resources.
  • Using Ubuntu Desktop (available in beta for community testing) – Covers admin essentials for Ubuntu Desktop, such as package management, system installation, etc.
  • Using Ubuntu Server (available in beta for community testing) – Covers common Ubuntu Server admin tasks like managing and securing services and servers.

Each exam is supported by a study guide based on the official exam content. Learn more at Canonical Academy.
