AlmaLinux OS 10 Released
The AlmaLinux OS Foundation has announced the release of AlmaLinux OS 10.0 (codenamed Purple Lion), which focuses on improving usability while maintaining compatibility.
“With an unwavering eye on maintaining compatibility with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), we have made small improvements to AlmaLinux OS 10 that target specific sections of our userbase,” says Eduard Abdullin in the announcement post.
Noted changes and updates in AlmaLinux 10 include:
- AlmaLinux 10 packages and repos are signed with the new RPM-GPG-KEY-AlmaLinux-10.
- No 32-bit (i686 architecture) packages.
- Support for Secure Boot for Intel/AMD and Arm platforms.
- System-wide cryptographic policies, the OpenSSL TLS toolkit, and the OpenSSH suite now work with post-quantum (PQ) algorithms.
- New sudo system role that lets you manage sudo configuration at scale across your systems.
