The operating system features specific AI optimizations.

CIQ has announced the Rocky Linux for AI (RLC-AI) operating system, engineered especially for artificial intelligence workloads.

Unlike general-purpose operating systems, the announcement says, RLC-AI offers kernel-level optimizations designed for AI model enablement, tuning, and inference. RLC-AI also includes:

  • Ready-to-use frameworks, libraries, and tools that work together seamlessly.
  • Compatibility with latest AI accelerators from leading chip providers.
  • Confidential computing.
  • Supply chain verification, cryptographic validation, and CVE remediation.
  • Comprehensive secure boot.

“RLC-AI enhances the Linux kernel and the user space to help organizations of all sizes adopt AI and improve utilization of these important compute resources and maintain competitive advantage,” says Gregory Kurtzer, CEO and Founder of CIQ.
