Cisco Plans to Acquire Splunk

If approved, the $28 billion deal will be one of Cisco’s largest ever.

Cisco has announced plans to acquire the cybersecurity and observability company Splunk in a deal valued at $28 billion, reports Sean Michael Kerner.

The move aims to “unite the two companies' complementary capabilities in security, observability, and cloud monitoring to better protect organizations against modern threats,” Kerner says.

According to the announcement, the proposed acquisition also “builds on Splunk’s heritage of helping organizations enhance their digital resilience and will accelerate Cisco’s strategy to securely connect everything,”
