Tips for Reducing Cloud-Based Storage Expenses
The cost of API requests made against your cloud storage buckets and data objects can sometimes be overlooked when managing cloud storage costs, says Chaim Rand.
In this article, however, Rand demonstrates “why this component is often underestimated and how it can become a significant portion of the cost of your big data application, if not managed properly.” He also discusses simple ways to keep this cost under control.
The article uses Amazon S3 for demonstration purposes, Rand notes, but the information is applicable to any other cloud storage service.
