Zarafa And Mandriva Team Up On Groupware

By

Both companies collaborate on providing groupware services for Linux and Windows networks.

Zarafa and French Linux distributor Mandriva have formed a partnership to offer integrated enterprise solutions. As a result packages for the Zarafa Collaboration Platform (ZCP) will be available for the Mandriva Enterprise Server 5. A specific wizard component will guide system administrators through installing and configuring the Zarafa software. User management will be possible in the integrated Mandriva Directory Server.

Zarafa positions itself as an alternative to Microsoft Exchange. It enables users to share their emails, calendar data and contacts through the Outlook client as well as with a browser-based web client. With an Active Directory plugin Zarafa can be integrated in existing Windows networks. The Zarafa open source project Z-Push implements compatibility with Microsofts Activesync.
