The smartphone is just another milestone for Purism. The company is also taking a looking at IoT. Weaver believes the IoT segment is posing the most serious threat to our privacy. At some point in the future, Weaver says Purism has plans to enter the IoT space and put the missing s (security) and p (privacy) in IoT.

"When we enter into the IoT space, we will be coming at it from a different perspective. We will be able to create security cameras that the user can control and a network that is completely secured," he said. "You won't have to make the compromise between convenience and privacy that you have to make today."
