IBM Z Announces z/OS 3.2
IBM Z announced the release of z/OS 3.2, the latest version of the company’s flagship mainframe operating system, which is designed for hybrid cloud and AI and includes support for IBM z17.
Key features of the operating system include:
- support for hardware-accelerated, AI-infused capabilities
- operational AI insights
- industry-leading cyber resiliency
- support for hybrid cloud application architectures
- simplified systems management
- improved infrastructure optimization
IBM z/OS 3.2 provides a “robust ecosystem of AI functionality including open source frameworks, libraries, and tooling,” the company says. And, it offers new and improved z/OS Management Facility (z/OSMF) capabilities, designed to reduce “the manual steps and skills required to perform management tasks such as software installations, operating system configuration, and data administration.”
