Enterprises Struggle to Manage Cloud Risks

By

Most organizations lack clear processes for measuring risk to cloud assets.

Many enterprises still wrestle with how to identify and manage their security risks with these services, according to a recent study from the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and Google Cloud, reports Kelly Jackson Higgins. In fact, “many organizations may not know for sure the extent of their cloud adoption.”

According to the study, half of respondents said that they are running 41 percent of their workloads in the public cloud, but 85 percent are not using cloud discovery tools to quantify that number. Instead, they are estimating their cloud use via manual methods.

Additionally, around “70 percent of organizations in the study say they don't have solid processes for mapping risk to their cloud assets,” Higgins says.
