GParted (Gnome partition editor) is a graphical front end to the GNU Parted command-line tool that allows you to rescue data from lost partitions or delete, resize, move, check, and copy partitions and filesystems without data loss. GParted Live is a Live Linux CD that offers an easy interface to GParted. Boot this CD on x86 and x86-64 computers running Linux, Windows, or Mac OS X. Configure and manage partitions on SATA, IDE, and SCSI hard disks; flash, solid-state, and RAID devices; and devices with sector sizes from 512 to 4096 bytes and more.
GParted works on the following filesystems using the libparted library and standard tools of the native filesystem:
- Btrfs
- ext2/ext3/ext4
- FAT16/FAT32
- HFS/HFS+
- linux-swap
- LVM2 pv
- NILFS2
- NTFS
- ReiserFS/Reiser4
- UFS
- XFS
