Red Hat rolls out a new integrated software appliance for unstructured data storage.

Red Hat has announced the availability of Red Hat Storage Software Appliance, which is the company's first integrated product providing scale-out storage for unstructured data.
Red Hat Storage Software Appliance is built on GlusterFS 3.2 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1. The software-only appliance allows enterprises to treat physical storage as a virtualized, standardized, and scale-on-demand pool. The product also provides the flexibility, performance, and quality required for open source enterprise environments across physical and cloud deployments.
According to the press release, the product is aimed at organizations with massive storage requirements and a mixed variety of workloads, such as digital media and content delivery networks, near-line storage, file sharing, backup, and archival environments.
Red Hat Storage Software Appliance is now available for purchase and trials. For more information, please visit http://www.redhat.com/storage.
